Description

This is the place to discuss the Celestron CGEM mounts and telescopes. The mount is intermediate between the Advanced Series and CGE series mounts. It is based on the Synta EQ6 but it uses the Celestron NexStar goto system. It is an ideal next step or upgrade for current NexStar owners and people new to Celestron alike.

Our current home page photo shows Brian Coniglio's CGEM setup. I am guessing that is a C8 with a Stellarvue guide scope. The tripod appears to be resting on vibration supression pads, a good idea if your observing platform is a wooden deck. Brian has adopted a pretty professional looking approach to cable management and dew protection for his distribution box. Anything else you would like to tell us about your setup, Brian?

I have the Flea3 USB3 color and full frames gets 60 FPS and in ROI mode will do 183 FPS.  I should have bought the one which does 120 FPS and in ROI mode will

Joe, Wow! a really nice picture of Saturn. Did get the B/W camera or color camera? I have a 8.3 Mp CCD camera for DSO's so I am looking at the color camera
