Description
This group is dedicated to the development and care of the Cheddar Ranch Observatory in Watonga, Oklahoma.
The Cheddar Ranch Observatory (CRO) is being developed by the Oklahoma City Astronomy Club on land generously donated to the club by the McCrary family of Watonga.
Carol McCrary the owner of the ranch has grandchildren who could not pronounce her name properly and began calling her 'Cheddar'. Hence the name of what we hope will be a great observtory and also serve as a living legacy to all those involved.
Providing public outreach and educational opportunities to the region as well as a place to collect useful scientific data.
The group picture on the front page currently shows our grand opening ceremony on July 26th, 2008.

Chris, I would hardly call us 'beyond broke'. We have enough money to operate this year and to do some more improvements, and to keep some money in the bank
