That's kind of an open ended question.

Yes, you can write an AJAX app in clearsilver, but clearsilver doesn't
really have much to assist you in this. There's no JSON parser or
generator, for example, though I think at least one of those has been
posted to this list.

Gmail's AJAX interface is "written" in clearsilver, though
clearsilver's only used for the scaffolding, the main app is written
in closure and soy.
