THE DEPARTMENT OF GENERAL EDUCATION

 

will continue to offer the University Elective course for post-graduate students

 

ENGL 501 Advanced Writing I

 

during the Spring Semester of 2007-08 Academic Year.

 

 

ENGL 501 is a post-graduate academic English course. The purpose of this course is to develop the academic writing skills of MA/MS and Ph.D. candidates. The prime focus will be on examining authentic academic texts, and analysing such elements as structure, vocabulary, and style, especially in theses and dissertations. Participants will then be invited to exploit this detailed understanding of textual dynamics in their own writing and helped to produce work that is accurate, concise, and appropriate.

 

Please note that it is advisable to enroll on this course in the 2nd or 3rd semester of the Master’s program.
