Hi,
I imaged Comet Lovejoy this morning (2012 January 05.62 UT) after the Moon had set. Used various lenses, etc. Here’s one with a 70-200mm Sigma lens @70mm @f2.8, 500D DSLR @1600 ISO, 5 x 2 minute sublights. FOV = 17 x 12 degrees.
or
and here’s one with a a 20mm Canon lens on the 500D @ f3.2 @ 1600iso, 7 x 1 minute exposures. I THINK I can trace the tail to 35 degrees... Astro twilight had started so had some gradient problems...
or
I couldn’t see the comet with the naked eye. Dark sky location.
Cheers
John Drummond
