Hi all,

I'm a new member to the group. My interest is primarily focussed on steam
turbines for use as an electricity generator, the steam being generated by solar
energy.

Does anyone have any info in this subject?

Thanks

George

I just spent 3 weeks in the shin nippon machinery factory in japan working with steam turbines from 5megawatt to 63megawatt. What exactly do you want to know?...

Solar and Steam turbine is not a good combination. If you wan to use solar, try solar with stirling engine. If you wan  to use steam turbine, try biofuel with...

normally excitation is used to control the rpm of the generator. but a small turbine needs to run pretty fast so you might want to consider a permanent magnet...

I rest my case, all that for only 10 megs. You can cram a 180 meg fluid bed coal fire on 10 acres with a bag house and you have allmost zero emissions. Does...
