Re: [DNNFreeHelp] Training guide or book for dnn admin

Hi Liz,

I actually buy the guides from DNNGuide for my clients since version 3.x. The guides are good for reference, in case the client forgets the steps to update the various modules. However, without prior instructional training, the guide may become useless as the client may not know where to look, considering it is over 400 pages. Some of my clients still come back to me for personal guidance, I suppose it is much more convenient than flipping/scrolling through the guide and reading.

In any case, there's DNNFreeHelp to provide you assistance anyway, so make full use of it.

Best Regards,

Subject: [DNNFreeHelp] Training guide or book for dnn admin

Hello!

First thanks for the answers to my previous question! I have been
slogging through trying to teach myself about module design and
admin. and this is one of my fall back places.

I have about 3 areas to add to our site coming up and I'm a little
bit panicky about how long it will take me through trial and error.
I can do text pages pretty easy, and even format a little with
html, but these pages need to look a little more slick. It's a
good opportunity for me to shine, and i wan't to do the best I can.
But frankly, i've never taken a computer course in my life. I don't
need to do java or anything fancy like that, but some nice images
and maybe some color. and it has to fit into the skin already set
by our provider.

I looked around on the web and found a book from a site called
dnn.com.au. it was called "DNNGuide" and looked pretty good. but
on closer inspection, it seems like it hasn't been updated since
4.3.4. about a year ago. I was wondering if any of you had heard of
these people, if you think the book would still be relevant and if
you have another resources or books for step by step training. I
haven't found the dnn website help all that easy to use or very
helpful, for me at least.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks.

liz
