Flood Warning System Disclaimer
Dear DRBC Flood Warning Service Subscriber:
This is a reminder of the limitations of the Delaware River Basin Commission’s
Flood Warning E-mail Notification Service (“Service”).
The Service carries no warranty, express or implied, and should not be your sole
source of information about potential flooding in your area. The Service relies
upon components that originate elsewhere and are not within the DRBC’s control.
For example, the flood information content is provided by the Advanced
Hydrologic Prediction Service (AHPS) of the National Weather Service. Your
access to the AHPS content is provided by the Internet service provider Yahoo!
The Commission’s Internet access depends upon off-site hardware controlled by
the State of New Jersey. These various systems are subject to periodic
malfunctions and outages. When any one of them is unavailable, the Service also
will be unavailable, potentially without warning.
In the event of heavy rain, extreme cold, or other conditions that could
contribute to flooding in your geographic area, we recommend that you consult
additional sources, such as your local news providers and the AHPS at:
http://www.weather.gov/ahps/ for information.
Please be aware that actual flood stages may differ from AHPS predictions.
The Service is expected to undergo continued improvements, involving periodic
shut-downs. The DRBC will inform users in advance of anticipated outages
whenever possible.
