The executive board has discussed the
possibility of presenting abstract awards at the annual meeting for the best papers
identifying DRSG as their principal specialty group. This would entail reviewing
the abstracts that specify DRSG as their principal specialty group and deciding
on one or a few best papers. The winners would be announced at our mixer
and at the awards luncheon and would receive certificates, mention in the SRA
bulletin, and of course lapel pins. This would provide good visibility
for the specialty group as well as luster for the award winners.
There were about 90 abstracts submitted
that identified DRSG as their principal specialty group. I would like to
put together a committee of six reviewers to choose one or more awardees. If
each reviewer reads half the abstracts then each abstract would be read by
three independent reviewers and each pair of abstracts would be read by at
least one reviewer.
I am requesting volunteers. It would
entail reviewing about 45 abstracts and taking part in one or two committee meetings.
Please respond to this message if you are interested.
Thank you.
