Scottish Language Dictonaires Ltd (SLD)
is seeking to appoint an

Assistant Editor
Salary: £18,025

The post involves editorial work in the compilation of dictionaries of
the Scots language. Training in lexicography will be given.

Duties include:

* the compilation of derivative dictionaries based on the
Scottish National Dictionary and the Dictionary of the Older Scottish
Tongue;
* the development of the historical dictionaries, the Scottish
National Dictionary and the Dictionary of the Older Scottish Tongue;
* supporting the Director as necessary in lexicographic,
administrative and outreach activities.
* the maintenance of the system of Word Collection for use in
updating extant dictionaries and for inclusion in new works;

You will have

* a first degree in a related subject;
* an interest in language and linguistics
* a knowledge of the Scots language;
* good organisational and inter-personal skills;
* a meticulous and professional approach to your work;
* the ability both to work on your own and to function
effectively as part of a team.
