Re: [DUniverse] DU 1.1? :)

I wish I could say that my "other forays" are completed. Having just
recently released the Mac version of the software, it's still taking up all
of my "DU" time (with minor updates, sales, support, etc.... not to mention
trying to get some of the major retail outlets to begin carrying it). Once
that's done (if it can ever be said to be done..), I still have a Windows
version of the software that's been haunting me for the past few years.
I'm not all that keen on Windows myself, but I have several thousand people
who have already requested a Windows port of "Digital Universe". Since the
Windows version is about 70% completed, I'll probably have to finish that
up once the current Macintosh rush is done.

As for a new DU for the next generation of Amiga, I am very excited to see
what lies in the future for the Amiga, and the potential is definitely
there. But the bottom line is that before spending any more development
time (which is always in very short supply) on the Amiga, I'm going to have
to wait first to see what kind of success the next generation of Amiga has
in the marketplace. I know it's a "Catch-22" situation since people won't
buy a next generation Amiga if there isn't software for it, and software
developers don't want to spend a great deal of time on creating software if
there aren't customers to buy it. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be
an easy and obvious solution to the problem.

In the meantime, as you may be aware, any existing owners of DU for the
Amiga can upgrade to DU for the Mac for half price if they purchase the
software directly from us, making the cost $74.95 Canadian (about $50 US).
Of course, to run it, you'd either need to have a Macintosh, or have the
capability of emulating one. For more details on that package, please
