that lulin.uof which is downloadable from OS4Depot doesn't work as you described

It has a "BOXBOX" in front of "c/lulin" and doesn't hold any information in the
next line.

Especially "join"ing it as you wrote in the readme produces a crippled misc.uof.

I took the data displayed and created a brand new Comet and added that to
misc.uof, otherwise misc.uof will hold a nameless line which CAN be added, but
with a broken name and information string in the header of lulin.

Maybe its just me or my join is broken
