Two new stars are in Heaven now.
The first one is a comic who tragically took his own life. I'm talking
of course of Richard Jeni. His death was a shock to all who knew him or
heard of him. I remember watching him when I was a kid and he was
always good for a laugh. It's a real shame that his end had to be this
way and he will be missed.
The second is a brassy blonde burst of energy from the 1940s and 1950s.
None other than the incomprable Betty Hutton. She was loud, she was
funny, and she seemed like she would bust through the screen or through
the microphone. No one could sing and dance like she could and she will
be remembered as an all around entertainer!
You've just got to be you or this is never gonna work......
A very happy birthday to the one and only Crocodile Hunter, Steve
Irwin. You did make a difference, mate, and you won't be forgotten!
Hello everyone!
Sorry for the quietness around here. Things just pile up sometimes and
you don't know exactly where to begin. Today's date marks several
anniversaries such as Lana Turner's 86th birthday, James Dean's 76th
birthday, and Jack Lemmon's 82nd birthday. It is now also known as the
day Anna Nicole Smith passed away. There are many theories and rumors
swirling around right now as to what could have happened to her. She
was only 39 years old. It is sad that she did not get to see her
daughter grow up like she got to see her son. She has left behind many
unanswered questions that may never be completely sorted out.
And you know who you are!
Today is the day that many remember with a tear. It marks 30 years that
Freddie Prinze left us. Hard to believe, I know. Today should not be a
sad day though. Freddie lived for laughter and so, in keeping with
spirit, please take a moment to smile in his memory. That's what he
want! You have not truly died Freddie because we will always remember
you!
Hi there nascarchickforever!
I didn't have a Johnny one or a Captain Jack one, but I have now. Well,
Jack Sparrow anyway and I will see about maybe Johnny himself...if
that's what you would like. Thanks for dropping by and I hope you will
come back often!
Hey Dani you rock! Have you made any of Johnny Depp? And of Jack
Sparrow. My aunt LOVES Jack Sparrow but her neice loves Johnny.Lol.
Thanks for your time.
You & everyone else on here have a great New Yrs. You do a great job
with your wallpapers...
Peace,
Cheryl

Hello members!
Today is New Year's Eve! The year has finally come to an end and as we
look back on things that have come to pass, let's not dwell on the
negative. Many good things happened and many bad thing took place, but
we are a year wiser and a year stronger. Enjoy, as I know there will be
many parties tonight, but please do so responsibly! Make a great memory
for yourself and all those you love!
Hello group!
Here's hoping that your holiday season is the brightest it can possibly
be. Today is supposed to be a day of remembrance and reflection of
making it through another years with all the ones you love around you.
Of course we remember baby Jesus and all the hope he represents, but
there are others to remember as well. Today is also the birthday of a
Hollywood leading man who needs no introduction.....Humphrey Bogart. it
was 105 years ago he was born.:) We also remember Charlie
Chaplin....the lil Tramp as many may remember him, Dean Martin....the
smooth one of the Rat Pack.
Unfortunately, we have another remembrance to add to this list, as the
news is spreading fast that the "Godfather of Soul" has passed away.
James brown has been very influential on the music we listen to and the
dancing we see in the videos. He will be sadly missed, but never EVER
forgotten!
I was unsure about posting this yesterday but now have been convinced
otherwise
Dec 24th saw the birthdate of the legendary Elisabeth, empress of
Austria. Elisabeth aka "Sissi" was born December 24th 1837 and lived
until. September 10th 1898 at the hands of an assasin. Since her death
there has been countless rememberances to her, monuments, museums
movies and a hugely sucessful musical. She will be remembered as one
of the most facinating figures in history
Hello group members.....
I do hope that you all have a nice warm spot to sit in for a moment.
As some of you may know, today is a solemn day for music lovers all
over as it marks 26 years John Lennon was taken away from the world
he changed. It is hard to believe that someone who wanted to "give
peace a chance" was taken so violently, but his legacy continues to
shine brightly. A genius is never forgotten and his music is a
treasure to all who listen to it.
Today also marks the birthday of another poetic soul, Jim Morrison.
The self-proclaimed Lizard King will never be forgotten be it for his
smoldering looks or lyrical voice.
It's also the birthdays of two talented comedians who will shine on
as long as we have film to remember them. Sammy Davis Jr and Flip
Wilson were both beloved entertainers and rightfully so. No one can
forget The Candy Man and once you see Geraldine.....no one could top
her in the sass department! After all...What you saw was what you got!
So much talent to remember today! Long may their memories live!
Also would like to mention...even though it's a bit late. Yesterday
marked the anniversary of Pearl Harbor. With our current situation,
it can be heartbreaking remembering what happened then and how it
seems to continue. The people who join the armed forces are heroes,
its very true at times, but we must remember they are people too. We
should take a moment to thank them for what they do.

Hello Paul!
I do apologize for the delay in my answering this lovely post, but I
couldn't believe I got such a nice compliment at first. LOL Thank you
so very much for the message and I hope that I can continue to live up
to your expectations.
Dani we would just like to say thank you for all of the GREAT
wallpapers that you have made. They are all spectacular. Again
thank you very much.

Hello group!
I do hope that all of you will have a very Happy Thanksgiving! The
history of the day can be muddled at times and there are many versions
of what exactly happened way back then, but the idea behind the holiday
is one that should really apply year round. A whole day to sit back and
realize how fortunate we are and just how rich we are. Time to see your
family a lil differently and be thankful for the differences each
person contributes to our lives. Enjoy your meals and the memories of
the past along with the new ones you're making!
Hello group members!
I do hope that this lil message will find you in good spirits. As you
may have noticed, things have right slow around here lately. True, it's
never been that "jumping" around here, but lately has been slower than
usual. So~~~~~~ I'm coming to you to ask you what would make you come
back more often? What would have people talking here? Any suggestions
would be greatly appreciated! I promise I will consider them very
carefully. Thanks for your time!

Hello everyone!
Today is a sad day for Tejano and Latino music lovers alike. Today we
mourn the loss of one of the forefathers of Latino music becoming
mainstream, today we mourn Freddy Fender. His name, his face, his
voice are all staples of growing up listening to the "Spanish Be-Bop
Boy". A true legend and a nice guy, he will be sorely missed.

That's right...........today Sept 16 is the Mexican Independence day!!!
Also, please keep in mind that September is Latino History month.
Doesn't seem to be very many people who remember that, but it is true.
Enjoy!
What can you really say about the significance of this day without
sounding redundant? It's hard to think of just the right words that
will sum up the feelings of this day 5 years ago. There was utter
disbelief that such was possible. There was anger, rage, fear,
shock, worry, hurt, agony, desperation, pain and just a heavy sense
of loss. The day and the days following were just a big blur of
having to coming to terms with the images all over. A huge mix of
emotions that consumed, not just people directly involved, but all
around the world. Then too, each anniversary seems to come too soon
and we live through it all over again. Each year, everyone asks,
have things really changed? Are we any better off or worse? Have
people around the world learned a lesson from the terrible tragedy
that happened 5 years ago today? Many would say yes and many would
say no. They also say we will never forget but some ask have we
forgotten all ready? It seems all we can do is try to move forward,
think of what the people on those planes and in those buildings
would have wanted from us. A painful lesson and a tragic end.
Today also marks another dark day, it is the 3rd anniversary of the
passing of John Ritter. John was always there to make the day a lil
brighter with a goofy look or a playful joke. He will always be a
comic genius and we'll always remember him!

This greatly saddens me. I always wanted to visit Australia and the
zoo where he worked so I could meet him and his wonderful family. I
would still like to go but it just won't be the same. He will be
missed.
I heard this morning, couldnt believe it. It's so sad he leaves behind
a wife and two lil babies. He died doing what he loved best though his
extraordinary work with keep his legend alive for many many years to
come

A familiar greeting that I'm sure many of you have heard time and time
again.
"G'Day Mate! I'm Steve Irwin!"
Well, sadly, that will only be on re-runs now. The news is spreading
fast the Steve-o, as he called himself, has left us here to carry on
his fight for his beloved animals. I know a lot of people are in shock
over news....believe me, I am one of you.....but I have a feeling
Steve would not want people to be sad. He would want them to remember
the times he made them laugh and taught them to be nicer to their
neighbors, the animals. My thoughts go to the family he was so proud
of and the friends he loved dearly....We will all miss Steve.
Thank you very much for the kind words. I do try to make the
wallpapers as interesting as I can.:D
Yes, please do join the group mentioned. It is a great starting place
to appreciate actresses of yesteryear. We won't see the likes of many
of them again and I'm sure they would be flattered to be remembered as
fondly as they are.
