Hello Tony, The difference is the size (obviously..) If your only going to use the DSI or DSI2 the 1.25 filter will be more then enough to illuminate the chip....

You know the chip size from the technical specs on the camera. The focal length and focal ratio should be specs of the lens you're using. At least that's how...

Focal length for the lens will be 50-80mm and yes, the FOV ~(4.2 degrees X 5.6 degrees for the 50mm FL and DSI-C) will be plenty wide enough for M42, M31, etc....

Hi Bob, You certainly will. the entire M31 can be capture on the DSI chip with a lens at 130mm. At 50mm, the field on the chip is approxametly 4 degrees...
