Yes, absolutely. We are aiming to release v1.3 in about a month's time, after which we'll port to MacOS and Linux.  So bear with us -- it's coming! :-)

FWIW: there is a lightweight database http://jdbm.sourceforge.net/ that might make Compendium universal without need for a heavy rdbms like MySQL. Cheers Jack...
