The EQMOD Project is dedicated to optimizing the control of EQ mounts.
This has been achieved through the development of an open source PC
based EQASCOM driver that provides a rich set of 'enhanced' mount
control functions. Communications to the mount are via RS232 and
require either RS232-TTL converter or connection to a V3.21 (or later)
Synscan hand controller operating in 'PC Remote' mode.
The key features and benefits provided by EQASCOM are as follows:
* Control using any ASCOM compliant planetarium or client
application
* Northern and Southern Hemisphere support
* Gotos/Slew at 0.144 resolution (dependent on Mount type)
* SYNC via ASCOM / Planetarium Software
* Enhanced goto accuracy via 1-Star / N-Star Alignment
* Gamepad / Joystick telescope control.
* GPS Support
* Variable Speed Periodic Error Correction (VS-PEC)
* Spiral Search
* User definable Park/unpark positions
* Sidereal, Lunar, Solar & Custom (DEC and RA) tracking rates.
* Pulseguiding, an alternative to ST4 that requires no extra cable
* Independent RA and DEC Autgoguider speeds
* Slew Speed from x1 to x800 of sidereal rate
* English, French, Spanish & Dutch language support
