[SPAM][EWB_SouthernAZProfessionals] Re: Listserv Spam

Hi All--

Based on the recent discussion about reducing listserv spam, I have changed our listserv's membership to "restricted".  Three easy and quick questions will help us determine the real potential members from the spammers.

I have also made Jennifer Dussor an assistant moderator to help keep up with "approving" via email any new members that may "apply".  Please be patient with us both, as we continue to work through these changes for future potential members!

These changes only affect our main listserv, not the Conference Room where the Salamanca project is conducted.

At the end of this email I've included the wording of new website mainpage which you can also visit at:

http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/EWB_SouthernAZProfessionals/

Hope this will help cut the spam!

Kiersten  :)

MEMBERSHIP:

TO BECOME A MEMBER, CLICK "Join Group" to request membership. To cut down on spam, we have chosen to have "restricted" membership.

First, make a YAHOO PROFILE--please consider listing your full name so other members can contact you about future projects.

Then, the website will send your membership request to the moderator by email. To EXPEDITE YOUR MEMBERSHIP APPROVAL, IN THE COMMENT BOX PLEASE BRIEFLY ANSWER the three questions below to help us verify your genuine interest in the Southern AZ Professional's Chapter of EWB.

1. How did you find out about our EWB chapter?
2. Describe your area of expertise or experience...
3. Do you live in Southern AZ? If so, which part?

After briefly answering these questions, please wait for the listserv moderator to "approve" your membership (typically  a day or two).
