Earth has lost half it's oxygen since Moses walked the planet--mostly from humans burning things!

Free oxygen is released from CO2 by plant growth occuring mostly in the oceans because they cover 4/5 ths of the planet. Diatoms release the most oxygen and they are dieing.

If Earth looses its CO2 the planet dies. It is now down to .033%. That is 1/3 of 1/10th% where before life got started on this planet it was 33%. Releasing CO2 is good and stopping the release of CO2 is bad! Earth is loosing it oxygen. If you really want to save the planet stop burning things! Use solar, wind, tide and geothermal energy.

The oxygen you are breathing, the coal that forged the metal, the sheetrock on your wall, the wood in your chair, the natural gas heating your dwelling, the oil in your car, the clothes on your back, even your toumbstone were all made from carbon dioxide! Everything (except metal) is made of CO2 by plant growth using mostly invisible light from space in the 350 to 400 nanometer range and you can't make anything during an Ice Age because most of the Earth is covered with ice. To discover what took Earth out of a billion-year-long ice age and laid down all the coal, oil and limestone you will have to read the book. It wasn't our sun. It doesn't have enough power to keep us out of Ice Ages.

CO2 is a rather heavy gas therefore the majority of it tends to stay below the 3000 foot level and Co2 is plant food. That is why there is a timberline. Trees won't grow above a certain level because there isn't enough food.

Earth already lost most of its atmosphere. To save the planet, stop burning things!
