Computer Science would probably be your best bet. You need a program that
foceses on programming. C++ is what the majority of AAA games are written in.
In several years Java might replace it as the language of choice. Also some
schools have game development degrees like Full Sail in Florida or Digipen in I
think San Fransisco. To get into a game programming job you need to prove
yourself as a programmer who can make a game. Making something some simple
games like asteroids for a portfolio or one difficult game like a first person
shooter would go a long way.

It is very difficult to get into the game development industry. The jobs are very popular so there is enormous competition. Plus there aren't that many jobs...
