EPN Sanctuary Program - Funds Needed!

Remember to Shop at IGive.com & Search at GoodSearch.com!

The EPN Sanctuary Program is in desperate need of funds to provide
Silver Inflation with hay, senior feed, vaccinations, deworming, hoof
care, and pergolide for Cushings.

The cost of hay has doubled in the past two years and the cost of
bedding is rising also. As long as fuel prices continue to rise, so
will all the related products.

Every person reading this can help fund Silver Inflation without
sending any money to the EPN! How? By using GoodSearch.com as your
Search Engine on the Internet! The EPN has signed up at GoodSearch
and now everyone can help care for Silver Inflation, a former
therapeutic riding horse. His story is on the EPN website:

http://www.equineprotectionnetwork.com/sanctuary/randy.htm

The EPN needs help feeding this horse- we are not going to plead for
donations by telling readers that are doors will close, or we are
going to be forced to put Silver Inflation down. We are asking for
help because the simple truth is that Christine Berry has funded in
excess of $1500.00 of his care this year alone out of her own pocket
and can no longer continue to fund his care due to rising costs.

At the end of this e-mail are several ways you can donate or go here:

http://www.equineprotectionnetwork.com/saveamericashorses/donate.htm

The EPN website was launched in 1996 documenting the violation of
horse cruelty laws at New Holland and raising awareness of the need
to pass the PA Horse Transport Law. In 1996, 97, 98, if you searched
for horse slaughter, you ended up with "Slaughterhouse Five". Our
website has provided information on horse welfare, horse cruelty,
horse slaughter, disposal options for horse owners, stolen horses,
and so much more. The EPN website has been a valuable resource for
students doing reports; we receive so many requests for our photos
from students.

If the EPN had a $100.00 for every e-mail or phone call we had
telling us how our site inspired them to rescue a horse, or how much
they appreciate what we are doing, the EPN would have received a
million dollars! We appreciate the kind words more than you can know,
but that does not pay the bills.

Instead we operate on average, on less than $5000.00 a year! The EPN
has accomplished more than many wealthy national organizations on a
mere pittance. The EPN prefers to spend our limited resources on
doing work that makes a difference- assisting law enforcement on
cruelty cases, documenting cruelty/lack of enforcement, speaking with
the media/public educating them on horse slaughter & horse welfare.
We don't have the time to spend time on fundraising. If we wanted to,
we could take out a loan and hire a professional fundraiser. Then
your donated money would go for fancy mailings, and of course to pay
the professional fundraiser!

The EPN has assisted other horse welfare organizations providing them
with information on fundraising opportunities and of course the EPN
website has inspired so many people to donate to rescues to buy a
horse at auction. Every media story the EPN has participated in has
benefited rescues because people naturally want to help rescue a
horse and the media lists local rescues. I often wonder how people
think the EPN is supposed to keep functioning if they do not send
anything but a thank you...

We have provided for profit companies with free advertising by
listing their services on the EPN website. Only one, CR Cremations,
continues to show their appreciation for business sent their way from
our website with a donation. One even had the audacity to ask us to
distribute their slick advertising material at our booth at the Horse
World Expo, yet refused to send a donation.

The EPN has been asked to attend trade shows and expos-we have to
turn people's requests down because there is not enough money.

Other ways to support the EPN include:

Shopping online at IGive.com and selecting the EPN as your charity -
http://www.igive.com/

Selecting the EPN to benefit from items sold on Ebay;

Shopping for CD's at CD Rush.com and putting EPN in the coupon code-
http://www.cdrush.com/

Shopping through our online mall-Back In the Saddle
Wickers, Office Depot, Sierra Trading Post:

Purchasing EPN Merchandise at our Cafe Press store -
http://www.cafepress.com/equineprotet6

Purchase of donated children books, "Heart, Hoof, & Soul" and"
Forelocks, Fetlocks & Horse Tales":

Just Give:

There are so many ways you can show your appreciation by donating to
the EPN for the work we have done and continue to do for the horses.
After this plea for donations I will see rescues adding
GoodSearch.com to their websites, maybe they will add a link the
EPN's website..

Volunteers-before you offer to volunteer, please, please, make sure
you can follow through on your commitment. Time is a valuable
resource and we do not have the luxury of investing time into
training a volunteer only to have the volunteer change their mind.
There are no opportunities for grooming horses-there are
opportunities for people wanting to do computer work and fundrasing.

If you appreciate the EPN's work, then support us by using GoodSearch
& IGive.com! Hopefully the EPN will see a check in the mail from
GoodSearch.com in our Holiday Stocking...

Hope everyone has a Safe & Happy Holiday Season!

Christine Berry
