explorator 9.35 December 24, 2006
================================================================
Editor's note: Most urls should be active for at least eight
hours from the time of publication.

For your computer's protection, Explorator is sent in plain text
and NEVER has attachments. Be suspicious of any Explorator which
arrives otherwise!!!

NOTA BENE: Yahoo (which is the place which 'hosts' Explorator) has
fiddled with their mail software so it gets transformed to html
mail by default. I am still sending plain text originally, but
when it goes through Yahoo, it gets transformed to html. If this
sort of thing makes you nervous, go to

http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/Explorator/

and sign in (I can't help you with that, by the way). Click on
"edit membership" (near the top) and scroll down to "Step 3.
Message Delivery". You will probably see that the "fully
featured" option has been inflicted upon you; change to
"traditional" and things should be okay. (I think that should
solve everything ... if you're still nervous, you can always
read Explorator via the website; no one can post anything
there except me).

EXPLORATOR is a weekly newsletter representing the fruits of
the labours of 'media research division' of The Atrium. Various
on-line news and magazine sources are scoured for news of the
ancient world (broadly construed: practically anything relating
to archaeology or history prior to about 1700 or so is fair
game) and every Sunday they are delivered to your mailbox free of
charge!
