Description

NOTE: If you are using some sort of SPAM blocker service that autoresponds to messages requesting verification of the sender, PLEASE do not join unless you understand how to allow any message from the list through without verification. We actively moderate our own list. You do not need to further moderate our list messages. Someone helpfully contributing to our list should not have to get a SPAM block verification message back from you asking them to register with your e-mail filter. Please, please do not use these services with our list - instead get a free Hotmail account or something.

This moderated discussion group is for Macromedia Flash users who want to use Flash more effectively for building websites, games, apps, etc. This mailing list is a fantastic learning and testing resource. It is comprised of talented and friendly Flash users worldwide who enjoy helping and learning from each other.

We average 5 - 10 messages per day. If you are concerned about message volume, you may want to switch to the digest mode (see below).

Please READ THE FLASH MANUAL and review the Tutorials, Lessons & Examples in Flash Help and use the group search before posting. We enjoy the support of Macromedia's Flash engineers and Tech Support personnel as well as many talented Flash experts worldwide. Please be considerate of their effort by not asking them to answer questions that are easily and readily available in the Flash Manual and other sources mentioned above. (thanks!) Often, the Archives or the manual can provide an instant answer!

Re: Dynamic text does not bold
I wouldn't put it that way. What you do is check the "use device fonts" checkbox. This tells Flash to look for the font on the client-side rather than embed

Re: Dynamic text does not bold
You mean I have to specify to Flash that the fonts used are already installed on the client? You seem to know way more about Flash than do I ;-)

Ah, but do you tell Flash to use "device fonts"? If not, the benefit is lost. Becky Thanks for the advice, Becky. I only used default fonts which come

Re: Dynamic text does not bold
Thanks for the advice, Becky. I only used default fonts which come installed on everybody's PCs. I used AS3's form class to bold the text. It is interesting
