Hi Folks:
I guess I ought to let everyone know what's happening concerning Georgia Skyview
2010. Well, everything is coming together quite nicely. Basically, everything
is set. The facilities are reserved, the tee shirt design is finished, and we
have a terrific lineup of guest speakers this year. If you thought last year's
event was good, this year's is going to be even better.

For guest speakers, we have two long time favorites in Phil Sacco and Dr.
Richard Schmude. We're all familiar with Phil's presentations and although I'm
not sure what Dr.Schmude will talk about but it has always been something
interesting. Both of these speakers have a way of getting you involved in their
presentations that really makes them interesting. This year, we've got two
other "new" speakers. They've spoken at our events in the past I think but it's
been a while ago. Stephen Ramsden has joined our club and he's going to put on a
solar observing presentation. There's a few of us involved in solar astronomy
but I think there's a lot of room in that area for more interest. Also, Tom
Crowley will give a presentation on Radio Astronomy. How many of you have an old
satellite dish lying around and can we use those? I don't know but I'm sure Tom
will tell us.

I've posted the designs for this year's tee shirt in the "photos" section of
this site. The registration form is available on the Flint River Astronomy site
( http://www.flintriverastronomy.org )on the Georgia Skyview page. The fees are
the same this year as they were last year except for the parking passes. The
State of Georgia went up on the parking fees this year. The park is also
remodeling some of the facilities at the site as well. Which one's I'm not sure
of but I do know they're making some improvements.

So, GSV'10 is off and running. If you have any questions, ask them here or use
my e-mail link on the Flint River Astronomy site. We hope to see everyone there
this year. May 13th - 16th, 2010 It's gonna be a good one.
