The National Wildlife Federation, Pennsylvania Federation of
Sportsmen's Clubs, and Pennsylvania Wildlife Federation are
sponsoring a "Wildlife and the Farm Bill Regional Summit", April 21,
in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
People who hunt, fish, love the outdoors or just enjoy wildlife --
and who want to make a difference for fish and wildlife -- are
invited to attend.
The Summit meeting will feature presentations on Farm Bill
conservation programs and their impact on fish and wildlife, a
summary of the hunting and fishing community agenda for the 2007
Farm Bill, training sessions on working with the press and media and
building coalitions and partnerships, and state-by-state strategy
sessions.
The Summit will be especially helpful for state and local hunting
and fishing organizations in the region who would like more
information on Farm Bill conservation programs in their state, and
would like to get involved in building a better 2007 Farm Bill. Each
year, the Farm Bill provides more than $3 billion for on-farm
conservation and fish and wildlife habitat in the USA.
Funds are available to help with travel expenses, and the Summit
Meeting is free for those who pre-register. Participants who arrive
Friday night, April 20, will be treated to a tour of Bass Pro Shops
in Harrisburg.
