Well, you now support what I think of as the most basic flexes on the hexaflexagon, the pinch, v and tuck. They each require at least 9 leaves for the minimal

Scott, Yes, tuck flex fits into my framework, and I believe any other flex does as well. What's the next flex that you would like me to add to the simulator?
