Description

Welcome!

This group is for news, discussion and speculation surrounding the recently discovered Flores Man, Homo floresiensis, AKA "Ebu Gogo," and how they fit into the larger picture. The type specimen, described as a female, is formally identified as LB1, and is nicknamed "Hobbit," though some prefer the nicknames "Ebu" or "Flo."

News, ideas and constructive arguments are welcome. Please regard this as an informal group, which is open to brainstorming and alternative ideas.

Please credit all sources, whenever possible. No flaming, personal attacks or spam.

Note, this group is concerned primarily with science, as it relates to H floresiensis, and human/hominid evolution. This is not a place to discuss politics (with minor exceptions, such as cases where politics or other factors may actually affect human evolution,) push political or religious agendas, or to advocate the censoring of scientific discourse for political, religious, or other partisan reasons.

"The Latest on the Littlest Brains in Human Evolution Evolution"
Here's a two-page blog entry, talking about Ardipithecus ramidus and Homo floresiensis. It's interesting, but there is much in here, that I disagree with.
