Description

This is a forensic psychology oriented mailing list, established to provide an information network for academics, students, clinicians, and other professionals.

The Australian Psychological Society (College of Forensic Psychologists) describes forensic psychology as "the application of psychological knowledge, concepts and skills to
the understanding of the functioning of the legal and criminal justice system. Forensic
psychology encompasses psychology and the law, the psychology of police and policing,
corrections, probation and parole, victim services, addiction services, family services and
the full range of activities related to law enforcement, and the evaluation and treatment of
offenders."

It is anticipated that this mailing list will provide a medium via which invited
Australian and International members can exchange information, and discuss
latest research trends, findings, and other forensic psychology related issues.
This list shall also notify members of conferences and professional and social
activities.

As a member of this mailing list you will also receive regular 'Table of Contents'
for popular forensic based publications included 'The Journal of Interpersonal
Violence' and 'Criminal Justice and Behaviour'. These will be emailed directly to
the mailing list, and partially address the 'primary need for those involved in the
management of service delivery to become more familiar with the relevant research
evidence' (McGuire, 1997).

Your participation is welcomed, and you may unsubscribe at any time.

Thankyou for your consideration,

Moderator
