RE: [ForensicNetwork] Sexual Behav Test

Brian,

I am querying why you think a paper and pencil test filled out by the offender
would give you much useful in this regard. Preditory sexual offenders are
unlikely to be very honest upfront about their predatory behaviours. Having
said that you could look at the Multiphasic Sexual Inventory, but it relies on
the offender being honest in their responses which makes conclusions hard.
Deviant scores may be less risky than non deviant scores because the former may
be more honest and ready to take responsibility for their behaviour whereas the
latter may be sneaky and dishonest. It then becomes very hard to interpret at
all.

Much more useful is to administer a validated actuarial risk tool (or several
different ones) such as the Static 99 for risk of sexual recidivism, the VRAG
(for sexual and violent) or the LSI-R for general recidivism. Assessment of
sexual offenders is a fairly specialised domain and it would be advisable to
find someone in your area with experience in this before stepping out too far.

Subject: [ForensicNetwork] Sexual Behav Test

I am looking for a valid and reliable test dealing with sexual
predatory behaviors. I have looked around and on the internet and have
had only limited success. I may also have use for a test that assesses
paedophilia or any deviant sexual behavior. I am, of course, willing to
purchase the test if needs be.
I am seeking a paper and pencil test that can be score via template or
be scanned within 24 hours of giving the test.
If anyone can direct me to such a test or has any suggestions I would
be very grateful.
Regards, Brian
