Description

This group is dedicated to FutureOS, a new revolutionary operating system for the Amstrad CPC. FutureOS was and is being specifically developed for the Amstrad CPC 6128 and 6128 Plus range of computers (Z80 assembler code). The development targets were: Compatibility and support of all hardware expansions, a standard GUI for OS and programs, very fast OS routines and direct access to the hardware. Due to its low-level routines it's very fast, stable and effective. It supports nearly all hardware-expansions ever made for the CPC. The memory management supports up to 8 MB RAM. FutureOS provides a 24 bit file-system for floppy disc and hard disc. The programmer can access all basic features of the Z80 and the CPC: The Second Register Set, all the RSTs entries (Programs can start at address &0000), Interrupt control, Interrupt mode, Fullscreen and Overscan. The system extension CBM provides a menu-system with pull-down menus and dialogue boxes. The programmer can use a Z80 assembler (i.e. MAXAM) and the C language (i.e. Small-C compiler).
