That's exactly what I've been wondering. He seems to have disappeared
(fortunately the site is still there, though). His absence is made even more
unfortunate by the fact that, at least to my knowledge, the source for GOLD
Parser Builder is completely unreleased, so I don't think anyone would be
able to pick up the reins without rewriting it from scratch,
reverse-engineering it, or somehow managing to get in contact with Devin.
Too bad, GOLD Parser Builder is an excellent tool.
FWIW, as a personal pet project I've been working on a, well, rather
ambitious project, in the D programming language (if it pans out it would be
a tool to translate code between languages, and do other similar processing.
It's tentatively called "SemiTwist Compiler" or STC). It's not very far
along right now, and doesn't even have a site, but it does already contain a
fully-working GOLD engine (lexer and parser). One of my long-term "todo"
items is actually to incorporate the same work that GOLD Parser Builder does
into my program, which would in effect eliminate my reliance on GOLD (as
well as provide a valuable learning exercise). Since GOLD Parser Builder is
still perfectly usable, that particular todo item hasn't really been a high
priority. But if there were enough popular demand it's possible I could be
swayed to bump up the priority of that.

Subject: [GOLD Parser] What's Happened to Devin???
Does anyone know what has happened to Mr. Cook?
Does anyone know what's going on with the Gold Parser?
If Devin can't or isn't going to continue developing the Gold Parser,
could\would one of you KNOWLEDGABLE user\developer take up the challenge? I
know there are a couple of you that are fairly intimatly familiar with Gold,
and I think it would be a small tragedy to let it just die. If it weren't
for the Free Gold Parser, I wouldn't know ANYTHING about Backus Noir Form,
or programming language Gramars at all.
Again, I think it would be horrible to just let this wonderful educational
tool drift into oblivion.
