We seek an expert in the technical aspects of animation for our next-
generation action game.
Join us as we embark on an amazing journey developing an original IP!

Job Description:
The ideal candidate is skilled technically/artistically and is well
versed in problem solving the many aspects of animation production.
He/She will work with others across departments to create an
effective pipeline for the animation team.

Primary Responsibilities:
Evaluate, initiate and maintain processes/procedures related to:

Set up pipe:
Rigging, skinning, ragdoll, cloth and dynamics, tools & automation
for characters, creatures, environments, vehicles and anything else
that needs to move
Animation pipe:
Creating tools, automating animation workflow, working with motion
capture data
Conversion pipe:
Getting animation transferred to work in game using Havok or Natural
Motion

Create efficient and flexible full body character setups
Setup ragdoll and cloth simulation rigs
Debug and refine our animation and motion capture pipeline
Create high resolution facial rigs that utilize joint and
blendshape/morph target nodes
Understanding of anatomy and motion
Experience with character rigging and weight painting
Streamline animation pipeline by creating (scripted) tools as
necessary

Education / Work Experience:
• Minimum 4 years experience creating exceptional animations
(Maya, Alias, etc.)
• 4-5 years minimum character rigging (full body & facial) &
weighting
• Extensive experience writing scripts – for animation
pipeline tools
• Experience setting up dynamics, clothes, fur, etc. in
Maya/Max
• Expertise in Maya, 3DS Max, Softimage or other 3D software
• BFA degree in Art related field (Computer Animation,
Computer Art) and/or BS in technology related field (Computer
Science) preferred but not required
• Good communication skills across the board (with animators,
other artists, software engineers, etc.)
• Proactive problem solver – properly investigating all facets
of issue to seek resolution
• Organized and detail oriented – able to focus on quality AND
deadlines simultaneously

Additional Skills:
• Experience with Motionbuilder a plus
• Experience writing Maya plug ins with programming languages
(such as C++ or python) a plus
• Experience with motion capture is a plus
• Experience with other technical art skills (lighting, FX,
etc.) a plus
• Experience developing console (PS3, X-Box 360) and/or PC
titles is a plus
• Ability & willingness to learn other relevant technical
areas to animation - critical
• Animation & Video game enthusiast

Provide several samples of functioning rig/skeletal systems you have
created (video or files). We always like to see to see animation
samples. Be sure to provide a breakdown and specify your work.


This is regular, full-time, career opportunity.

Relocation to the Dallas, TX metropolitan area is required.
