Who We Are Looking For:
We are seeking a very experienced artist with expert understanding in game and
simulations technology. We are looking for a passionate, detail oriented person
who has experience creating art pipelines and knowledge in best of class
pipeline methodologies. Applicant should have extensive experience using game
engines, specifically Gambryo and VBS2 a plus. Must be able to work
independently and as part of a team. Candidate must pass background check.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Leads, defines and directs the artistic look of projects including the creative
design as well as the technical art approach while meeting all project
requirements such as budget, schedule, aesthetic and technical matters
Writes art technical design, tutorials, and maintains art pipeline process
documentation
Coordinates proposal and request for bid documentation, both internal and
external.
Facilitates and trains technical artists.
Consults with and orients research programmers and research scientists about the
technical artistic constraints of a project.
Researches and develops cutting edge techniques and art technologies
Creates 2D and 3D computer graphic assets using off the-shelf and/or proprietary
software
Models and textures 3D architectural environments such as buildings, settings,
terrains, modes of transportation, objects/props, etc., and other art related
needs
Creates and retargets animation for characters, vehicles and props using
existing or custom rigs.
Creates new rigs and defines standards
Consults and trains technical artists, both internal and external to use defined
standards.
Researches and develops advancements in pipeline techniques.
Designs and creates new art tools with programmer assistance.
Evaluates, creates instructions and recommends tools for use by the art team.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Expert in Maya, Photoshop, and Mudbox or ZBrush
Extensive experience using game engines
Experience with Gambyo and/or VBS2 a plus
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Ability to be highly motivated and responsible
Possesses strong desire to learn and succeed
Must be detail oriented
Possesses excellent English written and verbal communication skills
Possesses excellent analytical and problem solving skills
Knowledge of MS Office Applications and other computer basics
Requirements:
Ability to work on-site at our Marina del Rey location 40 hours/week
Must be at least 18 years old to apply
Written approval from the ICT Program Manager (PM) or other designated
government representative will be required before any non-U.S. citizen can be
used in support of this project.
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree. Specialized/technical training/combined
experience/education as substitute for minimum education
Minimum Experience: 3 years
Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred Education: Bachelor's degree in a related discipline
Preferred Experience: 7 years
