Digital Artist Management is currently assisting a high profile
Orange County game development studio in there search for a solid
Software Engineer (Physics) for a new original First Person Shooter
franchise for the next generation consoles. This group already
employs a solid engineering staff, but they are looking for a few
more additions to ensure it remains second to
none.

This Southern California developer is located in a prime beach
area. They are committed to supplying its team with the best
resources available as well as providing excellent salaries,
bonuses, benefits and relocation assistance (if necessary).

This Software Engineer (Physics) will play a significant role in
executing the vision of this next generation IP.


SOFTWARE ENGINEER (PHYSICS)

Requirements
• MUST HAVE 3+ YEARS OF GAME INDUSTRY OR RELATED PROGRAMMING
EXPERIENCE
• Strong Experience with the following:
• Character key-frame animation interacting with a physics
simulation (Ragdoll, etc)
• Havok, ODE, Tokamak, NovodeX or equivalent physics SDK
• Proficiency with C/C++ and OOP architecture design and
implementation
• Implementation and design of an extensible cross-platform
physics architecture that will be able to move to new platforms with
minimal effort based around an existing real-time physics SDK
• Advanced knowledge of collision detection techniques


SOFTWARE ENGINEER (NETWORKING)

Requirements
• MUST HAVE 3+ YEARS OF GAME INDUSTRY OR RELATED PROGRAMMING
EXPERIENCE
• Shipped at least one title on PC, PS2, or Xbox using
client/server architecture for online play.
• Familiarity with client authoritative architecture.
• Experience with Xbox Live
• Ability to modify an existing game architecture so that it
will support a large numbers in online play with the least impact to
teams (client/server).
• Must be able to integrate code/packages from internal and
external sources.
• Provide support as needed to the teams using this
technology.
• Must create extensible cross platform solutions that can
include new platforms with minimal effort.
• Ability to develop Technical Design Documents (TDD)
pertaining to the project, that lead to well structured, quality and
maintainable code.
• Do whatever has to be done to ship the highest quality game
on time.
• Architected and implemented latency masking solutions.
• Excellent C/C++ programming skills.


SOFTWARE ENGINEER (MAYA TOOLS)

Requirements
• MUST HAVE 3+ YEARS OF GAME INDUSTRY OR RELATED PROGRAMMING
EXPERIENCE
• Design and implement exporters and importers.
• Experience with Maya SDK, Win32 SDK, MFC
• Passion for First Person Shooters
• Design, develop and own specialized art creation tools.
• Implement the Following:
o Windows-based tools for art pipeline and asset management
o Platform-based tools for art pipeline
o Plug-ins for 3rd party content creation applications
• Design tools and plug-ins to maximize efficiency of asset
creation
• Visual C++ (and/or .NET), object oriented and ANSI C
• Awareness of current trends in tools and development


SOFTWARE ENGINEER (LEAD)

Requirements
• MUST HAVE 3+ YEARS OF GAME INDUSTRY OR RELATED PROGRAMMING
EXPERIENCE
• Experience with all aspects of the development process,
tools and development environment
• Proficiency with C/C++
• Strong 3D math and graphics background
• Ability to contribute innovative and original ideas towards
all aspects of game production and development
• Willing to accept and provide direction, work well under
pressure and handle multiple tasks.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational
skills
• Self-motivated and able to work with a minimum of management
or supervision
• Experience with cross-platform development and porting
between platforms
• Expertise in assembly language programming


SR. PROGRAMMER (GRAPHICS PROGRAMMER)

Requirements
• MUST HAVE 3+ YEARS OF GAME INDUSTRY OR RELATED PROGRAMMING
EXPERIENCE
• Responsible for supporting product development teams in
their use of major graphics engine components, which include:
Rendering pipeline, skeletal animation system, scalability systems,
camera control, view and occlusion culling, collision detection,
physics, special effects, math functions, development/debugging
components, and tools
• 5+ years professional C++ experience
• Knowledge of vertex and pixel shaders
• Strong background in 3D math
• Skilled in advanced graphics pipeline optimization
techniques
• Experienced with team development and modern software
engineering practices
• Experience using a professional game engine such as Unreal,
Source, or Quake
