Hi,
I just this evening bought a small bag of the cheapest yellow label clay kitty litter for $1.27 (would have been cheaper at wall-mart, but I wasn't interested in the crowds tonight). It clearly and repeatably registered right at 400 counts higher than background using 515 scintillation probe. This week, when I make the weekly grocery run, I will pick up a small bag of Brazil nuts in the shell and a little can of Potassium Chloride (no-salt) to see what they do.
I am anxious to see what a good Ludlum 44-2 and a properly adjusted model 3 would do compared with my older 515X... probe when it comes to measuring these common naturally radioactive things.
Best,
