Like Geo, I ordered a Dual Ridge Collection Boutique Tissue holder, model DR9H found on
amazon.com, on the chance that it might also have Cobalt-60 contamination similar to the Dual Ridge Boutique holder that made the news at Bed, Bath and Beyond. Not finding any of these locally, this one was ordered from Amazon. At best it turns out to be a Cobalt-60 calibration source, at worst, it matches the brushed nickel fixtures in the bath :-)
Testing was performed using a Ludlum Model 3 Survey Meter with a Bicron PGM pancake probe:
Background Radiation Count: 23.4 CPM
Probe adjacent to side wall inside Boutique holder: 20.8 CPM
Bummer, no Cobalt-60 contamination evident, but at least it does look good fulfilling its intended purpose as a Kleenex tissue holder.
