I realized that most of my syreen girls would not be as, well colorful as they are due to most female birds are rather drab. So I added a change to the race stating that syreen females have the same coloration as the males. This developed due to most humaniod races like their women folk pretty instead of drab. And since they had other ways of protecting themselves they lost the drab colorzation needed to hide normal female birds.

 The odd building on the edge of town is taking more shape, but its an odd shape, curves and towers and curlicue bits seem to be covering it. It's near impossible to find a straight side.  No one is ever seen building it, new additions just appear randomly.
