Choices about feeding or medicating can be less confusing if the goat owner has a basic understanding of what goes on under the skin of the goat. What goes on in the rumen? How do antibiotics work? How do parasites, bacteria or viruses infect goats? What's the biology behind lactation? Here is your place to ask questions and learn all of these things and more.

Goat Biology is a classroom. We are all teachers and we are all students. Our goal is to learn more about the unique and fascinating way in which our goats function. There will be lectures, discussions, questions and hopefully answers. No one will be tested and no grades are given.

The first few posts by new members will be moderated to prevent spam. Since we want to encourage professionals to join to help us learn, anyone who disrupts the class with inappropriate attacks will be awarded the dunce-cap of permanent moderated status.
