Oh, right -- that was just a typo in my email. Sorry. The argument is
the ratio of differences of exponentials. The equation is correct in GC
if not my email.

I'm sure there's a reason for it, but why are there gaps in z = (1/2)ln(e^x-e^-y)/(e^-y-e^-x)) ? More to the point, is there a way to massage them away? [GC...
