Two sims were produced by Rossi corresponding to two samples A and B from his
e-cat
A and B are apparantly documented in
http://newenergytimes.com/v2/sr/RossiECat/docs/2010NewEnergySource.pdf
A sim was obtained after a short test which produced 288 kWh
B sim was obtained after a long test which produced 4774 kWh
Both sims show that the powder in the reactor is mostly iron !
B shows a high level of copper (63 and 65 amu peaks) which was not there in A.
Thus there is evidence for a chain of reactions starting from Fe (54, 56, 57)
(rather than Ni) and leading to Cu mainly ,
Ni (60, 61, 62, 64) being an intermediary element in the chain. Indeed:
1) Ni/Fe is greater in B than in A suggesting that Fe has been consummed and Ni
produced from Fe even though
the percentage of Ni remains almost constant from A to B (it being transmutted
into Cu)
2) Amount of Cu in the long test (B) is much greater than Ni + Cu in the short
test (A)
3) Ni isotopic abundances are really anomalous in A (Ni60/Ni61 very unnatural)
and seems to be converging to the natural abundances in B
4) Fe and Cu have quite natural isotopic abundances
The "reactions" seem to affect many other elements which are either produced or
consummed in large proportions from B to A.
So you cannot from these sims state that the reactor is producing energy just
from the transmutation of Ni into Copper.
Rather there are many transmutations taking place at the same time and in
particular from Fe to Cu via Ni.
Is there somewhere a scientific publication that showed almost exactly all these
incredible processes going on very significantly at
the same time ? the answer is yes!
Powerfull electric discharges in a pure Ti foil produce many transmutted
elements at the percent level found in the residual powder after the foil
explosion
see figure 3 in
http://www.uf.narod.ru/public/recom_e11.pdf
where the dominant new elements are Na, Al, Si, Ca, Cr, Fe, Cu, Zn most of them
are the same and in the same relative proportions as in the e-cat powder except
for Fe but this can be easily explained if the e-cat powder was obtained from
discharges in a Fe foil rather than a Ti foil.
Indeed the authors report that they have obtained similar results with
discharges in Fe and other elements foils.
They also show that strange enigmatic tracks of a new kind of radiation are
produced in these experiments. These objects which have all the properties of
mlbs (micro lighting-balls) can be trapped in iron because these are magnetic.
My interpretation is that various forbidden reactions at such energies
(transmutations) can take place inside the mlbs because the fundamental
interactions
coupling constants are modified inside the mlbs : indeed the team showed that
the half lifetimes of various nuclei (including Uranium 235) was found to be
modified.
They also found that the electric discharge pulverized the foil and that among
the produced microparticles, many were hollow with hydrogen (at high pressure)
inside and that some of these particles showed the appearing of new very heavy
elements (Pb, Au).

My interpretation is that the Rossi powder was obtained through powerfull
electric discharges where the mlbs were magnetically trapped in iron or
magnetite Fe3O4 allowing long term transmutations to take place in the powder in
a high H2 pressure and at a temperature not much below 1000K ~ the curie
temperature of Fe in case mlbs were trapped in Fe (however i prefer Fe3O4) .
I bet this is how KWatts can be obtained with 100 grams of powder instead of
only several watts if the powder had not been enriched in the strange mlbs.
