Anyone using a CM-4228 and experiencing problems with VHF should consider changing to the new CM4228HD when they become available.  It might prevent the need for the VHF antenna.  Of course a CM-7777 preamp would be a wise decision as well.

Exceptions would also go to some viewers using a CM 4228 which does not perform as well on VHF channel 7 as it does on VHF channel 12.  Also, KNTV-DT is licensed for 103.1 kW compared to KGO-DT at 24 kW, a difference of 6.33 dB.  If a viewer is close to the cliff edge for KNTV-DT they may not be able to pick up KGO-DT, but again it all goes to the type of antenna one is using and their location.
