Brad,
I spoke with a Ph.D. Mechanical Engineer friend of mine this afternoon by phone and he said he would be willing to machine your prototype, donating his labor -- if he thinks the design look feasible. He would like to have the materials costs covered, though.
He does excellent work -- the highest quality. He will be able to handle pretty much any machine needs you will have, between his machine shop and his brother's next door. See the attached photo of a prototype he did for PES Network. I've been in his shop many times. It is impressive.
You can read a brief story behind this on my profile page at:
I'm sure he will have some ides to throw into the mix, but he will also honor your wishes and design.
He has been chasing the magnet motor dream for decades, and has a design of his own that is looking very promising. He will not be open sourcing it, but he is supportive of the open source approach, and would not try to dissuade you from your objective to open source your design.
He said he served with a Brad Peterman many years ago, when he was between 19 - 21 years (an age range that you will recognize if you were indeed the same person). He said he could see the Brad Peterman he knew doing something like this.
He had a question for you. With you having achieved a running prototype for 5.5 minutes, crude though it may have been, he wonders why you didn't chase that more, seeking to improve it and get 10 minutes, then 100 minutes, etc.
He said that Thomas Edison approached his prototyping that way, even tweaking, rather than going for the expensive prototypes.
He would like to review your blueprints and plans before committing to building this for you.
He is very busy, but will take the time for this if he thinks its feasible -- gladly so and with enthusiasm.
Having been chasing the magnet motor himself for all these years, he knows a lot of things that don't work.
I'll send you a private email with his contact info.
I see in the HJ_motor queue that there is another person offering machining services.
Such is the path of open sourcing.

I've created an index page for this project at PESWiki, where we can organize/coordinate the project, including announcements of progress.
