The book is aimed at helping people increase their happiness level beyond their basic happiness setpoint. Lyubomirsky, professor of psychology at the University of California, Riverside, has numerous scientific studies to back up her conclusions but the book doesn't read at all like a scientific paper. It is a delight to read and has numerous questionaires to help one identify one's own happiness level and the best suited happiness activities.
