Having problems with message search?
Dear friends
It is great to be part of this group and I have had many opportunities to read many thought provoking articles on issues pertaining to Information and Communication Technology. I have always been able to enlighten myself by the discussion on this list. I have done many researches on the Internet regarding e-government and only on this list; I have had an opportunity read issues that are pragmatic to developing countries. Often I have wondered about the benefits this world could harness, if information could be shared on the Internet for others to see. People from developing countries
are always in search of e-government related information focused on developing countries.
Many developing countries are following strategies of developed countries only to realize that they are not designed from the global south’s socio-cultural and socio-economic perspectives. Many books and articles have been written, but sometimes they are not accessible and does not cover detailed information that can be directly implied to situation other than on the book. I myself started by reading e-government practices of developed countries only to see projects failing at the time of implementation.
There is a new forum developed with people like me
on mind. The forum aims to encourage resources, expertise, and knowledge pertaining to ICT related development in developing countries of the global south. I would really appreciate all you could check the site when you have free time, start raising important issues, and provide input on different issues pertaining to global south’s ICT transformation.
