Hi friends:
I have been thinking...I do not have RF Generator and Periodic/Log
Antennas....but I have APs, wireless cards and 24/19 dBi grids antennas.
If I know the transmission power (of AP or wireless cards), the antenna
gain (24 or 19) and the distance transmitter-receiver ¿why I cannot
calculate the gain of an antenna under test? or ¿can I do?

what do you think?

In the other hand, I would like, if somebody would send me the Short and
Long Distance Links Reports ... I am sorry, I lost that
information...very thanks in advance...

Best Regards

Luis

Subject: using Spectrum Analyzer Agilent ESA 4404B

Hi!

I am measuring the output power of wireless cards and APs. Mi procedure
es to introduce directly the output (antenna conector) of the equipment
to input of Spectrum Analyzer (ESA).
I have two problems:
1. I do not have doubts for insert to ESA; 14,17 and 20 dBm wireless
cards. The 4404B resists until 30 dBm (but 0 Vdc)...but I fear introduce
30 dBm exactly...4404B have a input attenuator but...when I introduce a
signal, the value power displayed in the ESA screen does not change
although I vary the value of attenuation..I do not know what happens.
¿how I could be sure that the internal attenuator is working? Of course,
with an external attenuator, I would not have problems, but, I do not
have one!

2. When I introduce the output power of a 17 dB wireless card to ESA,
the signal is not continuos, the signal hop hop in an interval of 100
MHz...it is normal?

I am attaching an picture of ESA, I get this image changing the typical
value of Sweep Time (4 ms) to 2 s.

Best regards

Hi all!
You can upload photos (and I am very curious to see them!!!) using the
Photo item on the menu on the left of the ICT4SD page. You must have a
Yahoo account to be able to upload the photos. You can also upload
general files (as for example documents) using the Files item of the
same menu.
Looking forward to seeing your photos!
Ciao,

We want to offer to schools and medical surgeries: internet service, Voice over IP, e-mail, etc.
I need a piece of advice about what hardware use for school stations.
I thought to ask Pentium IV with typical monitors that costs about 1000 $,
but I saw that you built your own systems. How much money did you save doing that,
because you used LCD monitor for saving power but this monitor costs about 800 $.
Do you think that is better to use LCD monitor in my case? Or is it better to use typical monitors
-I think that is better to use typical monitors because we have enough power energy enable-
Therefore, we want to offer VoIP but I don´t know a lot about this technology. I have read
in the slides presented in the school that you used Quintum PSTN Interface, but
in the slide called future VoIP, you said that you want to use Quintum or
Digium Products to replace Quicknet LineJack PSTN Card, why do you want to replace this card?,
what advantages does it have?. What sort of card do you advise us to use for VoIP system?
Could you please tell me what are the best products for VoIP?.
Thank you in advance for your help.

My names is Habibu Atib. I am new to this area of
wireless computing, so haven't done much yet. Though
my interest will be much inclined to security element
of it. I guess you have done alot in this area, as you

What are some of the security gaps that exists in this
area of wireless computing. I welcome ideas from you.
