The ITMalawi list - Nkhanga zinapangana kusanache.
In the past few decades, the computer has become a crucial part of the human life. From corporate/business to home computing, the computer impacts lives of many people around the world everyday.
As a productive tool for everyday communications or entertainment, computer hardware and software have grown in complexity, capacity, and importance to revolutionary levels. At the core of the revolution is
information access and sharing branding this 'The Information Age'.
There seems to be clear and widespread agreement among the public and educators that to get ahead of the pack, one needs to be proficient in computer use--people need to be 'computer literate'. However, there seems
to be only a vague notion of what computer literacy really means.
Well, ITMalawi is the forum where computer users of all disciplines and level of knowledge can share their experience, solve problems, and reach a consensus in layman's language .
On this forum, practitioners, managers, students and researchers can talk to each other in plain language about what works and what doesn't, what resources are available, and how to help one another
in a forum free of the technical jargon that keep some people out of the information technology field.
The main focus of this forum is to emphasise on how we can impart the knowledge to the development of Malawi's Information Technology field. We can't be left behind when we have the human resources to do it. We can only contribute effectively if we bring these resources together.
Please encourage others especially those resident in Malawi to join.
