RE: [Imagine_Knowledge] PHYSorg.com : Robot Learns to Smile and Frown (w/ Video)

Dear j,

Emperor’s glue got us in this mess. Bible, though, could not save crumbling Roman Empire and it cannot save us. 17th century interpretations only made things worse.

Bible still upholds mind-frame of using and abusing our environment. Many, including in US, still cling to it. (A kind of autism, if you wish.) And I doubt that you would approve some of their calls upon Bible. I do, however, approve some of yours. But, I’m afraid that you are in minority. And that is something I would like to see changed. But a simple call upon Bible will not help here. There are too many “experts” or “holders of absolute truth” out there... And a reasonable argument is not possible with “absolute truth holders”...

Bible, Quran etc. are inaccurate records of times, thoughts and actions long past and turned into dogmas. One could argue that augmented reality is “more believable” record. But all are records only.

We could argue about what we think somebody taught long time ago. We can even be inspired with our thoughts. But all our arguments will stop as soon we look at and see a simple blade of grass. When we really see it, it is infinite and beyond our comprehension. And this infinity might have been behind Bible. And this infinity might have been behind lenses of our cameras to create “augmented reality”. But this infinity cannot be replaced by either.

Records are nice, even necessary. After all, our stories (also records) are big part of what makes us human. However, if any of our records (or interpretation of them) cannot withstand the onslaught of a simple blade of grass, we must change it or drop it.

Individual salvation might be nice, but - I think - collective counts for more.

Kind regards,

Damir

j's comment:
Hi, Damir; another example of "programming" moving interactively with humans; while the promise of new technology is nearly always bright, the human debasement of e.g. Bible, Quran, radio, nuclear power, cds, etc., does tend toward "shock and au-tism" rather than Shek-in-ah.
