Re: Estalive virus

When I know a Windows PC has a virus, I assume that it's completely compromised
and can't be trusted. Implicit in that assumption is that I can't trust my
installed anti-virus software. If you really want to try to clean the hard
drive of the virus, I would download and boot from something like Ultimate Boot
CD and do an anti-virus scan of the hard drive: http://www.ubcd4win.com/

My usual fix for a Windows virus is to Ghost the hard drive, wipe and image the
hard drive with a fresh OS with all the latest patches behind a firewall,
install and update anti-virus software, install and update applications, and
then restore the data using Ghost Explorer.

block it, but my AOL anti-virus application (!) catches it multiple times a day.
In Googling "estalive," I can find out anything useful about what it does or how
to block it. However, I assume that it's the evil thing that makes my cursor
jump around while I'm typing. It also seems to spontaneously select blocks of
text that I'm typing and then backspace.>>
