My personal suggestion would be; since you tried auto WB and on a grey card, try
to set a WB on the grass, follow your manual for your specific way to do, it may
bring you back in the expected range. Also keep the setting even if camera is
not givin you the proper light temp, it should bring you close enough.
Personally I never had a lot of success with but a lot of photographer are
promoting it.
