       Thanks for the info about the relay. You are right about most relays not needing fans. In fact, I have never seen a fan used to cool a relay either.
       The manufacturer of the solid state relay (SSR) used to control the amplifier in Church Bells recommends the use of a fan to increase the life expectancy of the relay. If the full 10 amp load is used continuously. a fan can double the life expectancy. However, since the SSR is on only for the chimes, and a song now and then, and amp load is below 3 amps, I figured the duty cycle would preclude the recommendation for a fan.
In that light, I wondered if anyone had installed the relay without a fan, and what the life of the relay has been.
