Description
This group of plants contains about 88 species in total (53 Petrophiles and 35 Isopogons). Most are from the South West of the Continent but they can be found in all mainland states and Territories except NT. They are characterised by spherical to conical flower heads and are spectacular in flower.
The above plant is Petrophile linearis from WA. Its also known as Pixie Mops. It grows to about 50cm high. Not very hardy on the East Coast but will survive in a fabulously drained rockery in full Sun.
You'll find some images of these great plants in "files" and some links in "bookmarks".
